Helmet relining

Yesterday I decided to follow the steps to reline old helmets that was posted on ChopCult. Here are the results. I used an old So-Cal Speed Shop t-shirt for the head liner and brown crushed velvet fabric for the outer edges. Here is the results.

oil leak...gotcha!

So in a few of my previous posts I talked about some issues I was having with my bike. What else is new, right? I have been having an oil leak problem. Usually I am not concerned with leaks but this one has become a problem. No one wants to ride behind me because they end up looking like an Italian when they get done riding behind me and I have to spend a shit ton of loot filling up my gearcase fluid every time I ride. So I went searching for the problem last night. I fixed the primary drain plug leak and now I have another problem. Here is what I found. When I pulled the sprocket cover off Chris noticed immediately that something wasn't right. The nut that holds on the sprocket for one, didn't have a lock tab on it. Secondly, the nut was almost of of the tranny shaft. The only thing holding the nut on was the inside of the sprocket cover. In the picture you can notice where the nut has worn down a perfect circular pattern into the cover. After further inspection we noticed that the nut only had about a thread left on it. There is a seal that holds the fluid in behind the sprocket when it is tight and this seal is butted up against a gasket. I will start tearing into it more when I buy a sprocket puller and my parts come in. Stay Tuned.

These 2 cars hold a special place for me. The owner of the company I work for owns these 2 cars. A few years back he actually handed over the keys to some of the managers and I got to drive them. How awesome is that!

New Problems

So the other day on my way home from work my bike quit on me. I sat on the side of the road for about an hour until Bones could come get me with a trailer. The break down wasn't all that bad. I met "Gabby" from the 2nd Brigade MC and we chatted the whole time. He was more than willing to help me in anyway I needed. So I get the bike home and start checking things out. This was definately an ignition problem. The first thing I did was open the ignition cover and this is what I found. I was shocked with all those metal shavings! However, it wasn't as bad as I expected. A small screw holding my electronic ignition from the motor side decided to back out and shear the springs off of my advance unit weights. The metal shavings are a result of the weights hitting the small screw and gouging the inside of the cover. WHEEEWWW! I get a new advance unit from my boy Lance and put it in. I tighten down the bolt and SNAP! FUCK! The bolt snapped off in my cam. I call Chris ASAP before he leaves from work to bring me a new bolt and some left handed drill bits. We got the bolt out no problem and put the thing back together. After that, we headed down to Louie's trophy house to check out Barney's band the Menthols and have a few drinks. Now just to fix that god damned oil leak.Photobucket

This is rad!

I never copy shit off of other people's blogs. I don't believe in it. The whole point of creating original shit on your blog is so you don't see the same crap over and over again. I feel this had to be shared! Thanks Kemosabe!

shakedown run

this last weekend was our shakedown run. andy, taylor, brian, sean, and i rode up to interlochen michigan and stayed at the cycle moore campground. jesi followed us with a van and a trailer with his bike in it and a bunch of tools also! as soon as we got there and started setting up we were greeted by drunk ass marines that were funny as hell. we finished getting ready and got drunk with them and then passed out.

Saturday we went into the cycle moore shop and met the owners and checked out their mini museum.they had some cool old bikes in there! adam met us after breakfast and we headed out for a ride around the penninsulas, but that ended quick with a little accident with andy and taylor which i will let them write about. so we went back to the campsite and grabbed the van and went tubing down the platte river. it was a good time and fun,for about the first hour. next time we will take the short route i think. the funniest part of tubing was sean getting wasted and singing down the river. oh and when he told us about this chick that looked hot from behind, but turned out to be retarded when she turned around! haha. later that night sean and i headed out and found the local strip club, which was all nude and no drinking. we also found out that they are ok with you drinking outside on the picnic tables, and if you need it the manager will make a beer run for you!

sunday was a real hot day,so we tried to head out for the same ride we were going on the previous day. this time with different leaders. jesi made it a few miles and his throttle cable broke,so he and adam went fishing. the rest of us headed up 37 into traverse city and then hit 22 and followed that around until we made it back to 31. it was a nice long ride with great scenery and lots of cool small little town. when we got back from that ride we threw some swing arms and decided to pack up and go home to miss the rain.

so anyways i will stop babbling and post some picture for you to look at and let bones and andy tell their stories!
